Heroes Of Our Time

The Fauvic Embarkation Point

In the latter months of the German occupation, from

the later Summer of 1944 to February 1945, over 50

young men set off from this area of Fauvic and

succeeded in reaching the French coast.

Jersey acknowledges with pride the help given to those

who escaped by Islanders and in particular the families

of Deputy W. J. Bertram B.E.M. and Mr T. C. Bertram,

at great personal risk.

This tablet was unveiled on 20th January 1995 by

Sir Peter Crill K.B.E, Bailiff of Jersey
