Platte Rocque Tower

 

During The Second World War, the Occupying German force added concrete works, but the tower had a near miss in the summer of 1944 when a sentry fired his machine gun at an Allied plane that was passing over. The plane dropped a bomb, which missed the tower but fell in the roadway, causing damage to nearby properties
